Virginia Movers

Virginia Transfer & Storage Company is a local, family owned moving business that was founded in 1895 by Ward R. Scull in Newport News, Virginia. Since our doors opened, we have placed a strong emphasis on establishing lasting, long-term relationships with our employees, our clients, and the community in which we reside.

In 1934, Virginia Transfer & Storage Co. became the exclusive agent for Aero Mayflower Transit Co. for purposes of servicing its long distance moving customers. Since then, we have provided quality, professional moving services for multiple generations of families in the Hampton Roads area.

Not only have we also facilitated relocations for a multitude of local business, we have also had the opportunity and pleasure of working with such prestigious organizations as Christie’s and Sotheby’s Antiquity Auction Houses. We regularly work with various branches of the military to facilitate their frequent moving and storage needs. As a result, our storage warehouses are inspected by the Department of Defense on a yearly basis.

Virginia Transfer & Storage Company is still family owned and is currently operated by Ward R. Scull, II, who lives locally with his wife, Suzanne, and his nephew John Scull.
